چکیده
Abstract Aquifer hydraulic parameter can change during earthquakes. Continuous monitoring of the response water level to seismic waves or solid Earth tides provides an opportunity document how earthquakes influence hydrological properties. Here, we use data two groundwater wells, Dian-22 (D22) and Lijiang (LJ) well, in southeast Tibet Plateau 2015 Mw 7.8 Gorkha earthquake illustrate implications. The coherences wave before after far-field show systematic variations, which may confirm coseismic dynamic shaking at high frequencies ( f > 8 cpd). tidal levels these wells shows abrupt changes both phase shift amplitude ratio earthquake, be interpreted as occurrence vertical permeability a switched semiconfined aquifer D22 enhancement unconfined LJ well. Using continuous short-term transmissivity monitoring, that possible for about 10 days instant healing causal impact. Thus, have caused responses by reopening preexisting fractures later epicentral distances 1500 km.

The 2015 Gorkha Nepal Earthquake: Insights from Earthquake Damage Survey
The 2015 Gorkha Nepal earthquake caused tremendous damage and loss. To gain valuable lessons from this tragic event, an earthquake damage investigation team was dispatched to Nepal from 1 May 2015 to 7 May 2015. A unique aspect of the earthquake damage investigation is that first-hand earthquake damage data were obtained 6–11 days after the mainshock. To gain deeper understanding of the observe...

متن کاملWidespread ground motion distribution caused by rupture directivity during the 2015 Gorkha, Nepal earthquake
The ground motion and damage caused by the 2015 Gorkha, Nepal earthquake can be characterized by their widespread distributions to the east. Evidence from strong ground motions, regional acceleration duration, and teleseismic waveforms indicate that rupture directivity contributed significantly to these distributions. This phenomenon has been thought to occur only if a strike-slip or dip-slip r...

Detailed geodetic imaging of earthquake ruptures enhances our understanding of earthquake physics and associated ground shaking. The 25 April 2015 moment magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Gorkha, Nepal was the first large continental megathrust rupture to have occurred beneath a high-rate (5-hertz) Global Positioning System (GPS) network. We used GPS and interferometric synthetic aperture radar data ...
متن کاملGround Motion Characteristics of the 2015 Gorkha Earthquake, Survey of Damage to Stone Masonry Structures and Structural Field Tests
On April 25, 2015, a M7.8 earthquake rattled central Nepal; ground motion recorded in Kantipath, Kathmandu, 76.86 km east of the epicenter suggested that the low-frequency component was dominant. We consider data from eight aftershocks following the Gorkha earthquake and analyze ground motion characteristics; we found that most of the ground motion records are dominated by low frequencies for e...
